March for Mothers is inviting everyone to join this year’s 5k happening in the early part of 2018. This non-profit event aims to provide under resourced single mothers with a year’s supplies of freshly made and hand delivered organic baby foods, snacks and juices. The students of UCSD will come together with March for Mothers, the Rotary Club of Vista, the Flying Samaritans of UCSD, staff, faculty, and friends working hand in hand to provide more under-resourced people in Ensenada with the opportunity to get quality dental, optometry and pharmaceutical care. The race features a 3.1 mile course through the scenic UC San Diego campus. Runners will pass King Triton, the Geisel Library, the Sun God, the 23-foot stone bear, and the house perched on the Jacobs School of Engineering.
Participants will be able to get an official March for Mothers 5k race shirt and gift grab bag. Participants will be timed using a special chip, will have access to a water stop at the second mile of the race, and will get the chance to be a part of the festival that will happen after the race. Registration is $10 for students, $20 for the UCSD community, and $35 for general admission. For more information and ticket purchase visit here. All ages are welcome to participate in the March for Mothers 5k. Please note, that only the top finisher will be awarded the $250.00 cash prize.
